| Born and raised in Woodside California ~ Second Generation Swiss Italian. Moved to Oregon the first time in 1977 ~ then traveled to Hopi Indian reservation in Arizona, Guam, Yap, Montana, Washington, Texas, New Mexico. Also built a home in San Carlos Mexico and lived seasonly for 3 years where she became inspired to work with glass, tile, stones, etc. Graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2008 with a Masters degree in Education. Presently residing in San Diego, California, Tami practices the pique assiette style of mosaic art. Pique assiete has been described as a style of mosaic art that incorporates pieces of broken ceramics and other found objects into the design. The longer answer, to think about the appeal and expressiveness of pique assiette, one must take in ideas of lateral thinking, humor, the art of recycling, and the significance of found objects. Many of her pieces tell a story. Tami creates works of mosaic and is presently showing in four U.S. galleries. Her work was also published in 2007 on an International CD which is sold in galleries and boutiques through out the world. Tami is teaching mosaics at the Kroc Center in San Diego and offers private classes throughout San Diego County. Now teaching private mosaic classes in San Diego county.
